Fire Safety UK have gained significant experience of working in the utilities sector and on protecting major power plant and generating facilities.

For example, we have carried out a number of projects and installations for Scottish Power at Shoreham Power Station. One of these included design and installation of an alarm system in the cable tunnel and it’s access shafts. The cable tunnel was 25 meters below sea level and working on this system presented its own unique challenges.

We also recommended installation of a Crowcon gas monitoring system to monitor outflow from the air sampling system we installed. This allowed our client to monitor for potentially dangerous gases, as well as for early detection of smoke and fire. This was fully interfaced with the fire alarm panel we installed.

Very recently, we installed fire alarm systems utilising IR flame detectors to protect the generator sets for the 2012 London Olympic sites.
